Help shape the future of a proposed voluntary aided Muslim school in Hounslow

We are proposing to establish a voluntary aided Muslim school in the London Borough of Hounslow to serve our local community. This consultation is an opportunity for residents, parents, and stakeholders to share their views and help shape the proposal.

What are we asking?

We are seeking your views on our proposal to establish a voluntary aided Muslim school in the London Borough of Hounslow. In particular, we would like to understand:

  • Do you support the proposal to establish a voluntary aided Muslim school in Hounslow?
  • How likely would you be to consider this school for your child or a child in your care?
  • What aspects of a school are most important to you (e.g. academic standards, ethos, location, facilities)?
  • Do you feel there is a need for additional faith-based school places in the local area?
  • Do you have any concerns or suggestions regarding the proposal?

Why this is important?

The demand for high-quality school places that reflect the values and needs of the local community continues to grow. For many families in the London Borough of Hounslow, access to a school with a strong Muslim ethos is an important consideration in their child’s education.

Establishing a voluntary aided Muslim school would:

  • Provide greater choice for parents seeking a faith-based education within the state sector
  • Support the educational and personal development of children within a values-led environment
  • Help meet growing demand for school places in the local area
  • Strengthen community cohesion by serving local families and reflecting the diversity of the borough

Earlier engagement showed strong support from the community, and this consultation is an important next step in shaping a proposal that reflects those views.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Statutory Consultation for the proposed Unique Academy Voluntary Aided School (UAVA).

The consultation period commences on: Thursday 1 October 2026.

We welcome feedback from parents, carers, residents, community groups, schools and other stakeholders. Your views will play an important role in shaping the final proposal.

Consultation Update

Thank you to everyone who participated in our initial consultation between 18 October and 18 December 2025. We were encouraged to receive more than 1,000 responses, with an overwhelming 98.8% supporting the proposal to establish a Muslim ethos voluntary aided school in the London Borough of Hounslow.

Following this strong endorsement from the community, we are pleased to share that the local authority has granted approval for us to move forward to the next stage of the process: the statutory consultation.

If you would like your child to be considered, please complete the form below to register your interest. Please note that students currently attending Unique Academy will be given priority. This form will help us better understand demand and plan appropriately for future places.
