Mrs Hawwa Mbombo BA (Hons), MA, NPQH

Chair of Trustees

Mrs Mbombo is a mother, Qualified Headteacher, co-founder and the Chair of Unique Academy. Mrs Mbombo has held prominent posts in early years and primary independent schools in North and West London, in a career spanning over a decade. She is particularly passionate about spiritual development and curriculum design, having designed personalised curriculums for various institutions. 

 

Mr Mohammed Hamani

Trustee responsible for overseeing Qur’aan, Arabic and Halaqah

Mr Hamani is a father, teacher and co-founder of Unique Academy. He has a passion for Qur’aan recitation and memorisation and has over 15 years’ of experience teaching children, young people and adults Qur’aan, Arabic and Islamic studies in the local community. Ustadh is responsible for overseeing Qur’aan, Arabic and Halaqah curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment across the school. 

 

Mrs Beverley Thorpe-Raghdo BA (Hons), MA, Msc

Trustee responsible for overseeing Safeguarding, Mental health and Well-being

Mrs Thorpe-Raghdo is a Muslim revert, mother, teacher and a qualified counsellor. She lectures and supports communities through workshops, trainings and engages in consultancy work in maintained and independent schools.

 

Mrs Tahreem Sabir BSc, MA

Trustee responsible for overseeing Teaching, Learning and Assessment

Mrs Sabir is a former Headteacher with over twenty-two years of experience in primary education in the UK and abroad. Prior to this, Mrs Sabir founded and was the principal of the International Islamic Grammar School in Islamabad Pakistan. Mrs Sabir has a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University College of London (UCL). Mrs Sabir has a passion for training and mentoring and is overlooking teaching, learning and assessment across the school.
