TFL Stars

Unique Academy is taking part in the TFL STARS Award and we are aiming for the Bronze award. The purpose of the TFL STARS Award is to support pupils’ wellbeing, help to reduce congestion around the school and improve road safety and air quality.

What is TFL Stars?

STARS is TFL’s accreditation scheme for London schools and nurseries. STARS inspires young Londoners to travel to school sustainably, actively, responsibly and safely by championing walking, scooting and cycling.
STARS supports pupils’ wellbeing, helps to reduce congestion at the school gates and improve road safety and air quality.

What is TFL Stars accreditation?

If Junior Travel Ambassador’s are successful in completing a range of activities to promote healthier travel in their community, they can apply to receive the TFL Stars gold, silver or bronze award.

Who are the Junior Travel Ambassador’s?

Our Junior Travel Ambassador team will be a group of children from Key Stage 2 who give their free time to work alongside Travel Champions to promote, build awareness and participate in travel issues in and around out school.

Joining over half the school’s in London, Unique Academy’s Junior Travel Ambassadors will work on making their environment healthier and safer by recognising ways to improving road safety and the health and wellbeing of members of our school community.

What activities will the Junior Travel Ambassador’s be involved with?

Our Ambassadors will work busily on many activities throughout the year including giving feedback, conducting surveys, planning activities and creating positive attitudes to travel under the guidance and support of our local borough representatives.
